Four-In-Hand Coach, 2002 World Equestrian Games

Bill Long of Southern Pines, North Carolina, has been one of the most successful American drivers in international four-in-hand competition, having been selected to compete in the 1984, 1888, 1990, 1992, 1994, and 2000 World Championships. Long was the first American-trained driver to win the Royal Windsor Driving Grand Prix in England and he placed seventh in the World Four-In-Hand Championship in 1984

In 1989, Long received the USET's Whitney Stone Cup, an award given annually to an individual who not only has a distinguished international record, but who is also a fine ambassador for the sport and the USET.

In 1995, Long added to his illustrious record when he won the U.S Equestrian Team (USET) Four-In-Hand National Championship for the fifth time.
