Amy Tryon is a paramedic and full-time firefighter in Redmond, WA. She finds time for horses by "working holidays for everyone else!" She has been eventing since age seven, although she competed in her first three-star event in 1999.

She purchased Poggio II in October 1997 and the young horse advanced quickly. He won his first event at the Training, Preliminary and Intermediate levels so Amy tried him at the Advanced level in October 1998 where he won the two-star at Radnor. His solid performance in the three-star at Punchestown (Ireland) in May 1999 earned Amy a trip to the Pan American Games where she finished 4th individually, just two penalties away from the Bronze Medal.
Tryon had an outstanding two weeks in April 2002. She rode Woodstock to the Reserve Championship in the USET Three Star Spring Championship at the MBNA Foxhall Cup CCI*** and then rode Poggio II to third place in the USET Four Star Championship at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by Bayer CCI****.
