Geisler was last year's National Champion and took third in the qualifying competition to earn a spot on the team. Geisler's scores have been improving over the past year, which is attributed to his work on smooth transitions, being able to land softly and flow with the horse.

In 1996, he won the Silver men's medal and in 2000, he received a Gold medal at nationals. Although he has been involved with vaulting for 17 years, he says he did not get serious until the last few and since 2001 has been "bloodthirsty for progress." This is Geisler's first trip to WEG.
