The caption for this photo from a local South China, Maine, newspaper reads: “Stacy Glidden [her maiden name], 11, holds tight as her horse, Midnight Mist, rears in a field near her home in South China. Jesse Glidden, 10, Stacy’s brother, lies in the snow in front of the horse.” (Note: The photo was taken with a telephoto lens, making Jesse appear to be much closer to the horse than he actually was.)

We promised we’d give you a few details on the original clues, just in case you were still left clueless…

Her favorite food is pizza, but she loves Popcorn, too.
“Popcorn” (Doctor T Tari) is the name Stacy gave to the colt she won the 2006 Road To The Horse Colt-Starting Competition on. She liked the colt so much, she bought him and took him home to Ohio with her.

Popcorn starred in our 11-part, award-winning “Smart Start” colt-starting series with Stacy that ran in 11 of our 2007 issues. Stacy said of Popcorn in 2006, “He’s athletic and still throws in a buck occasionally, but he’s right on track in his training. In fact, he’s proving to be an even better horse than I’d thought.”

She’s worn her wedding dress more than once, although it experienced a wardrobe malfunction on one occasion.
Before Stacy’s Road To The Horse win in 2006, she was well-known for her unparalleled success in NRHA freestyle reining. Her string of victories in 2005, all of which she rode bridleless, brought one frazzling moment to the ordinarily composed horsewoman.

During the 2005 NRHA Futurity, her freestyle costume--her wedding dress--began to experience battle fatigue.

“It has a low back,” Stacy explained, “and just minutes before I was supposed to go in, I felt a ‘pop.’ The back zipper had split!” Riding bridleless, she had both hands free to hold the dress up, but the look of horror on her face attracted the attention of two women in the stands, who kindly pinned her back together.

She’s not a big fan of bridles and can do without a saddle, too.
As mentioned above, Stacy’s world-renowned for her reining freestyle wins--most of which she performed bareback and bridleless on her equally famous mare, Whizards Baby Doll (“Roxy”).

Ellen Degeneres invited Stacy to be a guest on her TV show after Stacy’s Congress freestyle performance became world famous. Here Stacy poses with her husband Jesse; sons Caleb, Joshua and Nathan; and, of course, Ellen, who’s sneaking a snack to Roxy for also appearing on the show.

At the 2006 All American Quarter Horse Congress, Stacy brought the crowd to tears with her bareback/bridleless freestyle performance dedicated to her father, who had died just three weeks earlier. Her performance, set to Tim McGraw’s song “Live Like You Were Dying,” netted one of the highest scores in NRHA history, a 239.

In early 2008, the video of Stacy’s Congress performance “went viral” on YouTube, receiving half a million hits within a week.

She has a fan named Ellen.
Due to the immense popularity and massive attention Stacy’s Congress performance received, popular actress and TV-show host, Ellen Degeneres, invited Stacy to be a guest on her TV show, "Ellen."

Ellen also invited Roxy along, who accompanied Stacy on stage. In behind-the-scenes footage at a local Los Angeles riding facility, Ellen even took a ride on Roxy.

During just one day after her appearance on "Ellen," Stacy’s website received 660,000 hits!
