Undefeated Road to the Horse Champion Chris Cox Returns for 2015

The 2015 Road to the Horse competition will be a strong one, as undefeated three-time Road to the Horse World Champion Chris Cox goes head-to-head against 2014 champion Jim Anderson. Anderson was also the 2014 Wild Card Champion. What’s at stake here? $100,000 to the winner.

Cox earned the title every time he entered this competition, which was in 2007, 2008 and 2011. Raised on a cattle ranch in Australia, Cox learned at an early age how to appreciate the abilities and traditions of the great men and horses around him. Influenced in his early years by both English and Western traditions, he has implemented a proven style and technique that can be applied universally across all disciplines.

Joining Cox and Anderson will be a newly crowned 2015 Wild Card Champion. Wild Cards for 2015 are Sean Patrick, Mary Kitzmiller, Trevor Carter, James Cooler, Shamus Haws, Dan Keen and Bobby Knight. The 2015 Wild Cards selected their colts from the 2014 AQHA Remuda from the 6666 Ranch at Road to the Horse 2014 and they will return to Road to the Horse 2015 with their colts, where a new Wild Card Champion will be crowned.

In the Road to the Horse competition, a limited number of elite competitors choose a horse out of a group of 3-year-old “untouched” horses, and they begin building a relationship between horse and human. Competitors are judged not only on a final test of skill, but the means to the end result. The goal of Road to the Horse is to teach horsemen and women that natural horsemanship is a kinder, gentler way of working with horses.
