Personally, I’m always intrigued watching the behind-the-scenes makings of movies, television shows and photo shoots. To me, it’s fascinating to see what goes into making a seemingly perfect production come together. While Horse & Rider’s photo shoots aren’t quite on par with Hollywood’s blockbusters, we have our fair share of trials and tribulations, hard work, sheer exhaustion–not to mention, tons of fun. In fact, getting out of the office to direct a photo shoot is by far one of my favorite aspects of the job.
This shoot took place in February ’09 and was for Clinton Anderson’s new Groundwork for Everyone series, in which Clinton teaches an H&R reader how to correct her horse’s disrespectful behaviors, using his renowned desensitizing techniques and his “longeing for respect.”The first and second installments of this series are in our June and July ’09 issues.
