Jochen Schleese Saddle Fitting Tip 7 - Saddle Straightness

A saddle should not fall off to one side when viewed from the front or back. Tree points should be positioned behind both scapuale (shoulder blades).

For a proper saddle fit with a correct saddle straightness, your saddle should have full panel contact along your horse’s back. You must step carefully behind your horse to make sure the saddle does not fall from left to right. Your horse’s spine should be aligned with the center of the saddle for a proper saddle fit.

Jochen Schleese, Certified Master Saddler and Saddle Ergonomist developed the Saddlefit 4 Life 80 point diagnostic evaluation to help you and your horse achieve optimal saddle fit! Book a Saddlefit 4 Life Educational event for your group!
