Network’s Thanksgiving Day Schedule Offers World Class Equestrian Events & Great Racing

November 23, 2011–HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will give viewers a bountiful feast of action on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24, when an outstanding block of English Horse Sports Showcase programming caps a day which begins with exciting live Thoroughbred racing action from across the country.

When racing concludes, HRTV serves up the best of equestrian programming, with one-hour shows beginning at 6 p.m. ET. Included in the extended English Horse Sports line-up are highlights from the World Equestrian Festival from Germany, headlined by the 2011 Aachen Marathon Driving CAIO, the 2011 Aachen Eventing CICO 3*, and the 2011 Aachen Grand Prix Dressage Freestyle CDIO. Also included in the block are the prestigious Hampton Classic, featuring the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup Qualifier, and the HITS Pfizer $1 million Grand Prix.

A busy day of racing opens the holiday schedule, which welcomes Opening Day from the Fair Grounds in New Orleans (Noon ET). Things get underway earlier when Calder kicks off the busy schedule at 11 a.m. ET, and it will be followed by Aqueduct (11:25 a.m. ET), Churchill Downs (11:30 a.m. ET), Laurel Park (11:35 a.m. ET), and Golden Gate (2:15 p.m. ET).

Stakes races slated for HRTV airing that day include: Fall Highweight (Aqueduct), Falls City Handicap (Churchill Downs), Thanksgiving Handicap (Fair Grounds), and the My Charmer Handicap (Calder).
