Special Report: Feed Recall

Few of us knew anything about the thousands of tons of potentially contaminated horse feed in circulation.

Early in May, Internet horse groups began circulating reports about an extensive recall of Purina-manufactured feeds. The feeds were being retrieved due to suspected contamination with aflatoxin above the FDA-recommended ceiling of 20 ppb. If you’re like most horse owners, you were totally unaware that thousands of tons of horse feed potentially contaminated with aflatoxin had been manufactured and were in circulation. Alfatoxins are produced by certain fungi/molds, and they can be deadly to horses.

Our special report delves into the latest feed recall to keep you informed about potentially dangerous feeds for your horse.
