Wendy Fryke
Born: October 13, 1964
Hometown: Parker, Colorado

Wendy Fryke of Parker, Colorado started riding as an adult in the hunter and jumper rings, then moved on to eventing at the lower levels.

It was the dressage phase of horse trials that led Wendy to para-dressage. Fryke applied for a dispensation so that she could ride with a hood on her right stirrup iron to secure her foot.

In 2010 riding Lateran, Wendy swept her grade 3 classes at the CPEDI 3* at the Dressage Affaire in Del Mar.

Wendy and the Westphalian Stallion, Lateran, were seventh at the USEF Selection Trial/National Championship for the U.S. Para-Equestrian Team for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

Fryke competed in the 2009 Cavalor/USEF National Para-Equestrian Dressage National Championships riding her mare Katanga.

Wendy and her husband, Michael, have two daughters Rachel and Maggie. Outside of riding Fryke is a published poet and a fledgling cyclist.

More about Wendy’s horse:

Name: Lateran, ?Studley?, ?Stud Muffin?, ?Muffin”

Groom: Nicole Glusenkamp

Likes: Lateran likes the ladies! Also treats of almost any kind, he loves being fed little tiny bits of apples, chewing them in bigger chunks is too much work. He also likes cameras, loves the paparazzi.

Dislikes: Pickles, slow people and traffic.

Personality: Lateran is A VERY LARGE personality housed in a pony body. He oozes charm, he knows he’s hot and wants you to know it too! He?s also very sweet, loves to work. He does not hold a grudge, but definitely doesn’t want to be taken for granted either.
