The old medicine cabinet standby hydrogen peroxide is no longer your go-to choice for wound care. Its antiseptic properties are negligible at best, and it can harm wounded tissue and slow the healing process. Better choices include a saline solution, plain water (preferably sterile or bottled), Betadine solution or Nolvasan.
