Safety Thought: Road Crossing

When crossing a road with two or more horses, especially a busy paved road, the horses should all turn and cross the road at the same time if possible.? If necessary, one rider at the front or back of the line should give the command so all cross together. This way everyone gets to the same side of the road more quickly.? It also prevents horses being separated on both sides of the road, with one or more becoming anxious to cross to his buddies on hard, slippery pavement when there could be traffic or other scary stuff coming by.
