A major horse show will again call New York City home. The first Central Park Horse Show Presented by Rolex will be held in New York City from Sept. 18-21, 2014.
Some of the world’s best equestrians will vie for top prizes, including a $200,000 Grand Prix on Thursday, which will be broadcast live on prime-time television. On Friday, there will be a pro/am jumping competition, Saturday will hold a World Dressage Challenge, and Sunday will include an afternoon polo match. It is sanctioned by the USEF and FEI.
This is the first time that an Olympic-caliber horse show will be held in New York City since the National Horse Show left Madison Square Garden in 2001.
Proceeds from the show will go to several New York City charities, including the New York City Police Foundation / NYPD Mounted Unit, the Police Athletic League NYC and Gallop NYC. Additionally, In addition, 50% of the matinee tickets will be donated to local children’s groups in order to broaden the exposure of equestrian sport.
