ADM Ambassadors Compete in Wrangler NFR

ADM Animal Nutrition™ is proud to sponsor three of its own at this year’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR), Dec. 3–Dec. 12, in Arlington, Texas. Clay Smith (team roping—header), Wesley Thorp (team roping—heeler) and Matt Reeves (steer wrestling) will be competing for world champion titles at the 10-day pinnacle event of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

In a tumultuous year for rodeo, due to the closure of multiple qualifying competitions, Smith, Thorp and Reeves campaigned tirelessly to secure positions as one of the top 10 athletes in their respective events. Smith is No. 2 in the world standings with $82,068 regular season earnings, Thorp is No. 10 with $52,862, and Reeves is No. 1 with $86,944.

“These guys have been fighting for a place at the WNFR since the last WNFR,” said Mike Barrett, Equine and Consumer Business Manager for ADM. “They’ve been out there going up and down the road trying to get to as many rodeos as possible, in a year where 12 months of rodeo had to be fit into about four months. These three individuals are at the top of their game and they’ve all been to the WNFR several times before while we’ve sponsored them and while they’ve been feeding our products.”

All three cowboys use ADM’s POWERGLO® feed, a premium feed for elite performance horses. The grain-free feed is formulated with maximum nutrition and proprietary blends of highly bioavailable vitamins and minerals to achieve full performance potential.

“We don’t want anyone speaking for us who doesn’t have first-hand knowledge of what our products can do and how they work,” said Barrett. “All three of these gentlemen have utilized POWERGLO on the horses that they’ve taken up and down the road.

“And it’s not only that they’re at the top of their game and feed our product,” continued Barrett. “More than that, these individuals have a solid character and they’re just all-around great people that you want representing you. These guys have really been pushing hard to not only represent us at ADM but also to represent themselves and what they’ve been working toward. We hope that our ambassadors get that gold buckle and walk out of there as world champions.”
