June 30. 2014–The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Janis Linnan as the USEF Steward General of Eventing. In this role, she will be responsible for the stewarding at FEI-sanctioned eventing competitions throughout the United States. Additionally, Linnan will work with USEF Honorary Steward General, David Distler, to implement FEI directives on education and licensing, as well as serve as a resource to FEI Eventing Stewards.
Linnan (Sandpoint, Idaho) has an extensive background as an official in equestrian sport, currently holding licenses as a Level 3 FEI Eventing Steward, an FEI Eventing 3*/4* Judge, a Level 2 FEI Dressage Steward, and Level 1 FEI Para-Equestrian Steward. Additionally, she has officiated at many of the world’s most prestigious competitions, including the FEI World Equestrian Games, FEI World Cup Finals, and the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event.
“I am honored to receive this appointment from the USEF as the Steward General of Eventing, and look forward to working with my colleagues in this role,” said Linnan. “I plan to utilize my international officiating experience, both as an FEI 3*/4* Eventing Judge and Chief Steward, to enhance the educational programs for our FEI Eventing Stewards.”
