Nutrena® Para-Reining Event Returns to Kentucky Reining Cup

Nutrena Para-Reining returns to the 2015 Kentucky Reining Cup April 24-25 in Lexington, Kentucky.

April 9, 2015–For the second year, Cargill’s Nutrena® brand Para-Reining Event will be part of the Kentucky Reining Cup, held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky. on April 24-25.

The United States Para-Equestrian Association, together with USA Reining introduced Para-Reining into its repertoire in Nov. 2013 at the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) world championship show in Oklahoma City. USA Reining approved Para-Reining as a fully-recognized discipline at the beginning of 2015. USA Reining also partners with the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) to help develop and promote the sport in the Para-Equestrian world.

The Nutrena® Para-Reining event will be held following the FEI Junior and FEI Young Rider classes on April 25 at 1 p.m. Riders in the class will be coached by riders participating in the Open Reining and World Championship Freestyle Reining. Mounts will be donated by generous owners of Reining horses.

Riders in the Nutrena® Para-Reining event are veterans of Para-Dressage classes, among others. Winners will receive Gist belt buckles donated by Gist Silversmiths. The Nutrena® Para-Reining event is sponsored by Cargill’s Nutrena® brand, and sanctioned by USA Reining and USPEA, with additional support from the AQHA and NRHA.

Now in its fifth year, the Kentucky Reining Cup is held in conjunction with the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event. This year’s Kentucky Reining Cup features the FEI Concours de Reining International, as well as the Spooks Gotta Whiz Open and Baby Spooks Non Pro competition plus the World Championship Freestyle Reining.
