July 19, 2005 — Sarah Taylor of Davison, Mich., and Undulata’s Time to Shine won the 2005 USEF Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal Finals July 15 in Lexington, Ky. This year marked the fifth anniversary of the prestigious equitation Medal Finals.

“I was really excited,” said Taylor. “It was a good experience. This is the same horse that I’ve been riding for three years, but this was our first national finals together.”

Taylor’s win earned her the traditional sculpted statue of a Saddlebred created by Patricia Crane. Taylor’s trainer, Kathy Boggs of Spring Valley, Ohio, received the trainer’s award, traditionally given to the man or woman who coaches the champion.

Tasha Rose Sandler of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., riding Lotto America, finished second. Judging this year’s finals were Michael Craghead of Livermore, Calif., Kim Crumpler of Simpsonville, Ky., and Tim Lockard of Russell, Iowa.
