September 21, 2010 — Join two-time Olympic eventer and Practical Horseman magazine columnist Jim Wofford for an entertaining and educational cross-country course walk during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Friday, October 1, 2010. The course walk is open to all and is free (with event admission).
On the course walk, Jim will help to demystify course designer Michael Etherington-Smith’s challenging and exciting cross-country questions by offering attendees insight into each featured obstacle. You’ll discover the best way to approach and leave each jump and exactly how riders are tested at each one. Truly experience this world-class cross-country course through the eyes of this legendary rider and coach to better understand and enjoy watching riders from around the world answer the demanding questions in front of them.
To attend this insightful and engaging presentation, meet Jim at the cross-country start box approximately 30 minutes after the last dressage ride. Wear comfortable, waterproof footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather. You may also want to bring an umbrella, jacket, sunscreen, insect repellent, water and an easy-to-carry portable chair or blanket to sit on. Expect to be out on course for approximately two hours.
Jim will be signing his books and videos at the US Pony Clubs building on the Horse Park grounds at 12 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 30. Olympians David and Karen O’Connor will be doing signings on Saturday, Oct. 2, immediately following cross-country.
