Keeping a Young Horse's Mind with Dakota Kirchenschlager

Kirchenschlager talks about keeping a young horse quiet in the practice pen.

Dakota Kirchenschlager won the PRCA’s Resistol Rookie of the Year Award in 2011, and since then he’s qualified for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and won the Wildfire Open to the World.

Kirchenschlager has been mounted on top horses such as Randon Adams’ Diesel, but he usually rides his homemade young horses in all the toughest set ups. Here, he talks about keeping young horses quiet and why he likes to train his own.
