Many Youth Activities Planned for QuarterFest 2010

April 21, 2010?A special-run model of a Breyer horse is another reason to attend QuarterFest in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, April 30 – May 2, 2010. Kids 11 and younger get free admission to QuarterFest when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.

Breyer will unveil the new gray American Quarter Horse model named Smokin? Hot Chic at QuarterFest where it will be sold exclusively. Breyer?s booth will be located in the Youth and Conservation Center ? sponsored by Breyer and Tractor Supply Co. Special pricing for all AQHA members will be offered for the Breyer horse. There will be a limit of two models per person, and you must show a valid, current AQHA membership card to receive special pricing.

While you are at the booth purchasing your Breyer horse to help celebrate the second annual QuarterFest, let the kids paint a Stablemate to take home.

QuarterFest will have many activities throughout the weekend for the kids. Youth activities include making mop ponies in the Mop Pony Parlor, throwing horse shoes at the Horseshoeapalooza, making trail mix at the Trail Mix Fix, painting Stablemates with Breyer, taking pictures with Two Bits, testing out a saddle at Sit a Saddle, throwing a loop at the Roping Range, and taking part in the QuarterFest scavenger hunt. All of these youth activities are included in the price of the general admission ticket to QuarterFest.

QuarterFest will also offer first-time riding lessons taught by Christy Landwehr of Aurora, Colorado. Landwehr is the executive director of the Certified Horsemanship Association. Riders, ages 6 through 16, can take their first riding lesson Saturday or Sunday. The cost of the lesson is $15. The sessions are May 1 or May 2, 11:30-12:30 p.m. or 4-5 p.m. Riders do not need to bring horses, as they will work with Middle Tennessee State University school horses. There are a limited number of spots still open for the lessons, so call (866) 424-RIDE today to purchase a riding lesson.

QuarterFest is a three-day, education-packed celebration of the horse, where horse enthusiasts from around the world will gather for fun, entertainment and festivities.
